Exceptional-acquisition route for foreign investors who first obtain the required conformity certificate from the relevant Turkish authority and then proceed through residence-permit and citizenship application steps.

• Full work rights

General acquisition of Turkish citizenship. The official application guidance requires five years of uninterrupted residence in Türkiye together with proof of livelihood or profession, a valid residence permit covering the application period, and a health report.

Digital nomad visa pre-application route. Applicants first obtain the Digital Nomad Identification Certificate through the official platform and then apply for the visa at a Türkiye visa center or consulate.

• Remote/foreign employment only

Indefinite long-term residence route for foreigners with at least eight years of continuous residence in Türkiye, no social assistance in the past three years, sufficient stable income, valid medical insurance, and no public-order or public-security threat.

Short-term residence permit governed by the Law on Foreigners and International Protection. The official page lists use cases including scientific research, property ownership, business or commercial connections, and on-the-job training.

Employer-tied work-permit route. The labour ministry states a definite-term permit is issued for up to one year at first application for a specific workplace, job, and employer, with extensions up to two years and then three years under the same employer.
